A Daring Escape!

Hi!
Guess what?
On Wednesday, the most scariest thing happened! And today, something scary happened too! Okay, well, on Wednesday, I was playing with my friend, Chase. We were going to go over to her house before Young Woman's, and we were going to put those black marks under our eyes that football players have, and wear sweatpants and have our hair up in really high messy buns with those elastic headbands on our heads. It was fun, by the way, but that's a different story.
Anyway, we were trooping over to her house, when we looked in the garage. Chase's dad was home! Not good. Chase was grounded that day, and her mom could play with friends until her dad came home. But Chase really wanted me to come over, so I said okay. I'm such a push-over! She walked into her house, told me to wait on the doorstep, so she could check if the coast was clear. When it was, we snuck upstairs into her room and played around for a bit. After a half an hour or so, her parents called her down for dinner. That was my cue to leave and eat dinner myself. As before, Chase left her room, and checked to see if the coast was clear. She walked to the base of the stairs, and saw that her dad was in the office! The stairs are by the door of the office, and since the office doesn't have a door, you would be easily spotted if you wanted to go through the garage door or the front door. Besides, even if you were lucky to make it past the office, you would be spotted walking through the kitchen to get to the garage door. We were in a puddle of mud. Just then, Chase's eyes lit up. She said she had an idea to get me out, so we walked into her brothers room. She opened the window, and climbed outside. My heart was thumping like no other! She wanted me to jump off the roof!
"No way, Jose!" I cried.
"I'm not gonna have you kill yourself!" she retorted. "You're not going to jump off, your going to slide down!"
You see, Chase has a pillar connected to the ground and the roof. I was on a little dip in the roof, so if you would look over, a little pointed area, that was higher than you, was connected to the top of the pillar. She wanted me to slide down a giant wooden pillar! Off her roof!! I was terrified.
"Lizzy, I've done this before. There is no need to be scared!" she said. "Here, I'll show you."
She shimmied over to the pillar, and wrapped her arms around its support. She took one of her legs out of the gutter, and wrapped it around the pillar as well. Then she carefully took her other leg off the roof, and slid her way down. When she hit the ground, she looked up at me.
"See? Easy!"
"Ha ha. You've done this before."
"Yeah, once before!"
"That doesn't help!"
"Just do it!"
"Fine!"
I looked over the edge, which didn't help. It was only 10 or 9 feet off the ground, but to me, it seemed like 100 feet. I got a little woozy. I am not good with heights. I sucked in a deep breath, and shimmied over to the pillar. I wrapped my arms around its support, and my other leg. When I tried to get my other leg on the pillar, my jeans got caught in the gutter! Ack! I yanked and pulled, and finally it came out. I was really getting scared. I gently slid down the pole, and I touched the ground. I was alive! I shook my head once, as if to get the memory out of my head, said a quick goodbye, and ran home. Phew! I made it!

The second escape was heart thumping as well.
So, I was hanging out with Chase and Sadie, and it was her brothers last basketball game. Sadie's parents said it was okay that Chase and I could come, and we hopped in the car. We brought money, and headed to AFJH (American Fork Jr. High). When we got there, her parents and brother trooped to the gym, while Sadie, Chase, and I looked at some pictures and stuff. We walked to the vending machines, and got fat on jerky, chips, and Mini Oreos. Those were delicious, by the way. I'm getting off topic!
Anyway, we had to go to the bathroom. (Well, maybe I had to go to the bathroom, but, whatever!) We headed to the main hall and turned off into one of the bathrooms - with Sadie following - and closed the stall. I called out for them not to leave.
When I came out, sure enough, (and as immature as they are!) they were gone. Figures. There is a hallway by the bathrooms, a billboard, and then another hallway on the other side of the billboard. I thought that they had gone down the hallway, so I figured I could find them and scare them (which they deserve!). Some of the lights were out, so every three lights were on. It cast eerie shadows on the lockers, and my heart started thumping. I quietly made my way down the hallway, and heard someone fiddling with lockers and whispering around the corner (there had to be a stupid corner!). And every now and then, my shoe would squeak.

Sadie and Chase went into the hallway, leaving me stranded, still using the bathroom. They left because they thought it would be funny for me to find them. They walked down the hallway, rounding the corner. They walked over to the lockers, and started playing with them, and Sadie started teaching Chase how to open them, whispering. Suddenly, they heard a weird squeaking noise (which was my shoe) so they freaked out and ran down the hallway and up some stairs. They walked quietly down the hallway, and suddenly heard a weird banging noise. Their hearts started to beat faster. They crept down the hallway, sweating bullets. They heard a doorknob turn, and open. The door banged open, flooding the hallway with light. They heard footsteps come out of the door. They freaked! They ran down the hallway, screaming.

I turned the corner, and no one was there. Hmm...strange. My heart beat faster, and I was really creeped out. I crept down the hallway, and suddenly heard pounding footsteps down to the right of the hallway, and two people screaming bloody murder. I freaked out, and froze. Sadie and Chase came running down the hallway, and Sadie noticed me. She ran towards me, and Chase kept running. We went after Chase, and they told me everything that happened. I thought it was funny, but I was a little upset that they had left. Mean. I wanted to know what happend, so they took me upstairs. We quietly walked down the hallway. Then, we got lost upstairs. We suddenly heard footsteps, and since we were so scared, it sounded like they were coming from every corner in the hallway. We booked it, and the footsteps started following us. I started freaking out, and ran into a dead end. I had missed a turn! I ran back, just in time to see Chase rounding a corner. I shrieked, and follwed her, in the back. No one likes to be in the back! I ran, so terrified and running on adrenaline. We finally made it back downstairs and we never stopped running until we made it to the gym. Scary!

Those were some pretty creepy moments in my life. I had never stepped foot in AFJH, so I was so lost. Ack!
Well,
Ciao for now!
Lizzy
